History of Our School
With the letter of our University Rectorate dated 30.12.1993 and numbered B.30.2.OGÜ.0.70.71.02/1434, the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education was requested to open a Vocational School in Sivrihisar. At the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board dated 06.01.1994; It was taken into consideration that it would contribute to closing the intermediate manpower gap and the opening of a Vocational School in Sivrihisar affiliated with Osmangazi University was deemed appropriate in accordance with the article 7/d -2 of the law no. 2547, amended by the law no. 2880, and in the 1994-1995 academic year, Computer Programming and Agricultural Equipment and Technology was deemed appropriate. It started education as a machinery department. It had its first graduates in June 1996. Agricultural Tools and Machinery Program was closed due to student indifference, and Construction, Machinery and Accounting Programs were opened in the 2000-2001 academic year with 30 quotas each. With the opening of the Air Conditioning and Cooling Program in the 2005-2006 academic year, the total number of programs increased to 5. The Accounting and Tax Applications evening education program was opened in the 2012-2013 academic year. Our Vocational School, operating in Sivrihisar District, provides associate degree education with Computer Programming, Air Conditioning and Cooling Technology, Construction Technology, Machinery, Accounting and Tax Applications, Accounting and Tax Applications (evening education) programs. Students who graduate from vocational and technical secondary education institutions are placed by ÖSYM, without an exam, in vocational schools where programs that are a continuation of the program they have completed or are closest to it are implemented.
Students who graduate from associate degree programs can continue their 4-year undergraduate education if they meet the conditions in the "Regulation on the Continuation of undergraduate education for Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Program Graduates".
Our school has a computer laboratory with 80 computers for students' use, an air conditioning and refrigeration technology laboratory, and a machine workshop. Education continues with theoretical and practical courses aimed at providing professional knowledge and skills. Our students graduate with the qualifications demanded by the goods and services sector, equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, and can find jobs in the public and private sectors after graduation.
Computer Programming
Computer Programming is a rapidly developing profession that can be applied in many business areas. The aim of the department is to train intermediate staff who can meet the increasing need in this field. Computer Programming covers the areas of using computers, developing applications to meet the needs of computer users, troubleshooting hardware malfunctions, and establishing and managing computer networks. Our students graduate as good programmers, equipped with the knowledge to understand the subject they are working on through theoretical and applied courses and to translate it into computer language down to the smallest detail. Graduates can work as computer programmers in the public and private sectors.
Construction Technology
The aim of the program is to train technical personnel who can implement plans and projects made by architects and engineers in the construction of buildings. Nowadays, there is a greater need for trained technical personnel in the field of construction.
In addition to implementing plans and projects created by architects and engineers, construction technicians can design and implement a building's design, static and reinforced concrete calculations. Graduates can work in public institutions and organizations and in the private sector.
Machine
The aim of the program is to train intermediate manpower to work on issues related to the use of all kinds of machines, designing machine parts, drawing technical drawings and processing them using machining and machining methods on relevant benches. Graduates can work as technical personnel in the public and private sectors.
Accounting and Tax Applications
In the program, intermediate manpower is trained in the field of accounting in order to carry out service and production activities efficiently in public institutions and organizations and the private sector. The aim of the program is to train careful, organized accounting staff with theoretical and practical knowledge. Graduates can work in the public and private sectors or open their own accounting offices.
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (This program does not currently accept students.)
Air Conditioning and Cooling Technology Program is a technical program that provides training on the concepts, theory, rules and applications of air conditioning and cooling.
Air Conditioning and Cooling applications in closed environments; It covers the processes of maintaining human life more comfortably, ensuring that people work healthily, keeping the weather conditions required for industries at optimum levels, and preserving foodstuffs, medical products and some items for a long time without spoiling.
In the program, skills in computer operation, mathematics, installation operation, measurement and manufacturing, assembly fault diagnosis and troubleshooting, maintenance, project preparation and business planning are acquired. Graduates can easily find jobs in businesses that provide air conditioning and refrigeration services, factories that produce coolers, contracting companies, material sales stores, and project offices, or they can establish their own businesses.
